Setup Motorola 3347 DSL modem

Assumption:

  1. Qwest DSL service has been setup by Qwest
  2. Qwest DSL circuit has programmed by PSNI

Before you start:

  1. Ensure you have the settings assigned to you by PSNI
  2. Modem is connected to computer via ethernet or USB port
  3. Modem is powered
  4. Modem is connected to wall jack
Note:
  • Customers who have custom configurations should always setup modem with single computer connected directly to the DSL modem to ensure DSL service is up and running prior to customizing. This will eliminate the DSL circuit as a source of failure when troubleshooting.
  1. Open web browser. (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox)
  2. Enter http://192.168.0.1 into address field and press the Enter key
  3. The Motorola 3347 Modem Menu should display.
    Note: If the menu does not display then check your connection between the modem  and your computer insuring both ends are plugged in firmly. If one of the ends is loose firmly plug it in, reboot your computer and go back to step one.
  4. Click Quick Setup
  5. Select RFC-1483 Bridged Ethernet LLC/SNAP
  6. Select Single Static IP address under Select the IP Type
  7. Enter the Static IP address provided by PSNI
  8. Select Static DNS Addresses under Select the DNS type
  9. Enter DNS IP addresses provided by PSNI (206.63.63.1 / 198.137.231.1)
  10. Click Save and Restart Connection
  11. Wait for modem to reboot
  12. Test connection by going to http://www.disney.com
    Your computer now has access to the Internet.
