Windows Outlook 2007 Account Setup

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007
  2. Click Tools
  3. Click Accounts Settings
  4. Ensure E-mail is selected
  5. Click New
  6. Choose E-mail Service
    Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
  7. Click Next
  8. Auto Account Setup
    Check box at bottom: Manually configure server settings or additional server types
  9. Click Next
  10. Choose E-mail Service
    Ensure Internet E-mail is selected
  11. Click Next
  12. User Information
    Your Name: Enter your name you wish to be displayed with your e-mail address.
    E-Mail Address: Enter your full e-mail address.
  13. Server Information
    Account Type: POP3
    Incoming mail server: Enter the POP server info provided by PSNI (usually mail.domainname.com)
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Enter the SMTP server info provided by PSNI. (usually smtp.domainname.com)
  14. Logon Information
    User Name:
    Enter your full e-mail address
    Password: Enter your password. (Passwords are case sensitive)
    Remember password Normally left checked
    Require logon on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) Do not check this box.
  15. Click More Settings button
  16. Click Outgoing Server tab.
  17. Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
    Critical Note: If this is not checked you will not be able to send e-mail through PSNI mail system.
    Ensure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
  18. Click OK
  19. Click Next
  20. Click Finished
  21. Click Close
