Windows Outlook Express 6 Account Setup

- Open Outlook Express
- Click Tools
- Click Accounts
- Ensure Mail tab is selected
Tip: For simplicity delete any e-mail account that is no longer used, if present, by selecting the account and click Remove
- Click Add
- Click Mail button to start the mail wizard
- Enter your name you wish to be displayed with your e-mail address.
- Click Next
- E-mail address: Enter your full e-mail address.
- Click Next
- Ensure My incoming mail server is a POP3 server: is selected.
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server: Enter the POP server info provided by PSNI (usually mail.domainname.com) Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: Enter the SMTP server info provided by PSNI (usually smtp.domainname.com)
- Click Next

Account name: Enter your full e-mail address
Password: Enter your e-mail password (Case sensitive)
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Under the Account column double click your new account to display the properties for that account.
- Enter your full e-mail address in the first field. It is simply a label.
Leave the Reply address blank as the system will automatically use your e-mail address
- Click Servers
- In Outgoing Mail Server section Ensure My server requires authentication is checked.
Critical Note: If this is not checked you will not be able to send e-mail through PSNI mail system.
- Click Settings
- Ensure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
Ensure Log on using Secure Password Authentication is NOT selected.- Click OK
- Click OK
